Birthdays are important events in the lives of first graders. One detail that may be different from kindergarten is that first graders do not bring in birthday snacks. The first grade teachers made this decision for the safety of students with food allergies. If you would like to send in something, small tokens (pencils, erasers, stickers, think… small, simple, Dollar Store, one per child ) are great options. Either way, your child will be celebrated in a special way on his/her birthday.
