Thank You!

Thank you so much FIRST GRADE FAMILIES!!! We were blown away by all the volunteers who showed up last night to help us with some first grade prep work. The room was packed! The sheer number of scissors at work in the classroom was impressive and it was fun to see some of the first graders.

We were able to get many reading tools cut, writing packets stapled, labels added to books and books scanned into our new WEB reading check-out system. Thank you for helping us with these jobs. I’ll be sure to let you know when other volunteer opportunities arise throughout the school year!

Help Needed!

I hope you are enjoying  your summer break! I have had a wonderful time spending time with my family. Along with going to the beach, we have been getting our son, Danny, ready for college. At the end of August, he is heading off for his freshman year at Michigan Tech. We are adding lots of warm gear to his pile of clothes!

I have also had fun getting our classroom ready! There are many little jobs to do before the end of summer. Our first grade teaching team would LOVE some help in organizing and preparing our classrooms, so we are having a First Grade Work Night in August. This is a great way for us to get to know you before September, and also for us to get some much needed help with a few time consuming jobs.

Our work night will be on Tuesday, August 19 from 7 to 8-ish and we welcome your help. If you are able to stop by, we promise to keep you and your first grader busy with some fun projects!
