Math Update

This week we started a new unit in math on counting money including pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars. Each day our second graders will be handling money through games and activities.

You can provide extra practice for your child at home by identifying coins, identifying their values, sorting groups of similar coins, and counting the total amounts (less than $2.00). Counting and practicing with actual money at home will help your child make a stronger connection between coins and their values.

Here is a parent letter that describes our study of money.
